Monthly Meetings & Workshops
At IDEAS, we are committed to creating spaces where our members can learn, grow, and connect. Every third Wednesday of the month, we host our monthly meeting, featuring keynote speakers who bring important and practical information to our community.
Our speakers come from diverse backgrounds: attorneys offering legal guidance, artists sharing creative perspectives, educators providing academic tools and advice, and community leaders giving practical tips for everyday life. If we believe someone has knowledge that can benefit our members, we do our best to invite them as a guest speaker. Each presentation is chosen with the goal of supporting, educating, and inspiring our community.
We also understand that there is always more information to share than what one monthly meeting can cover. That is why we organize workshops throughout the month. These workshops provide more focused, hands-on learning opportunities for those who want to dive deeper into specific topics. Whether it’s navigating education, understanding legal rights, developing professional skills, or learning about wellness and daily life, our workshops are open to anyone who wishes to attend.

The IDEAS Alumni Association (I.A.A.) Mentorship Program is all about connection. We’re here to bring together IDEAS Club students from Warren High School (and students from nearby schools) with amazing alumni who are already out there doing big things in the world. Whether you’re a student figuring out your next step or an alumni ready to give back, this program is your space to grow, share, and inspire.
Mentors are paired with mentees based on career, academic and professional interests. Our goal is to build a community where students feel empowered and supported as they figure out their futures. And for our alumni, it’s a chance to pay it forward and help guide the next generation.

Tutoring Program
Tutoring Program
This tutoring program is designed to support high school students as well as those in community college and four-year universities. Our tutors are dedicated IDEAS members who bring their expertise in various subjects to assist their peers academically. This initiative not only offers a chance to give back to the community but also fosters collaboration and builds a strong network of support among students.
Both tutors and tutees sign up by completing a the survey below. Tutors indicate the subjects and academic levels they feel confident teahcing, along with their availability. Tutees share the subjects in which they need support and the times that work best for them. Based on this information, we carefully pair tutors and tutees to ensure meaningful and effective sessions.
To accomodate the busy schedules of both students and tutors, all sessions are held virtually and scheduled by appointment. This flexibility allows us to meet students where they are providing personalized support that helps them grow academically while fostering a culture of giving back and lifting one another up.
Fundraising Committee
Fundraising Committee
The Fundraising Committee is a dedicated tea, of IDEAS members committed to securing financial support for our annual scholarship. Their primary role is to connect with donors, local businesses and community partners who share our mission of investing in students' futures. Every contribution raised through this committee goes directly to the IDEAS Alumni Association Scholarship: 100% of the funds are awarded to deserving and qualifying students.
Before joining the committee, members receive training to ensure they feel confident in reaching out potential donors and managing the fundraising process. Guided by our Chief Financial Officer and Fundraising Committee Coordinator, Josue Mejia, members are supported every step of the way; from making the initial connection with a donor to completing the donation process. The committee works together to strengthen our scholarship fund and expand opportunities for our students.
The IDEAS Alumni Association Scholarship
The IDEAS Alumni Association Scholarship
The IDEAS Alumni Association Scholarship is designed to support our community of students as they pursue higher education. This opportunity is open to active members of the IDEAS Alumni Association who are currently College students (community college, university, or graduate school) and high school seniors in the IDEAS Club or nearby partner schools who are preparing to continue to college.
To be considered, applicants must provide proof of enrollment and demonstrate active involvement in their club or association. Scholarship recipients are selected based on their commitment to education, leadership, and community engagement.
Funds awarded may be used for any academic-related expenses that help students succeed in their studies. We trust our scholars to use this support in ways that best serve their educational journey.
